Recipe for Making Kue Gemblong (Gemblong Cake) - Below is a simple recipe to make cake gemblong which is one of the traditional foods typical of the archipelago. Gemblong is usually made from cassava flour or main ingredient glutinous white and can be combined with black sticky rice flour.


Ingredients :

  • 200 g of sticky rice flour
  • 100 ml coconut milk liquid boiling
  • 2 tbsp flour sago
  • 2 tsp water whiting
  • ½ grains of grated coconut
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Sugar salute:
  • 150 g brown sugar
  • 75 g caster sugar
  • 50 ml water

How to Make Gemblong Cake :

  1. All ingradient mixed in flat, squeeze-squeeze and pour the warm coconut milk little by little. Knead the dough to be established. Round-round oblong shape and slightly flattened or to taste.
  2. Heat the oil over medium heat until cooked batter-fried golden brown then remove and drain.
  3. Boil all ingredients until sugar dissolves salute sugar and condensed. Reduce the heat and enter gemblong, stir quickly and evenly until the entire surface is swathed in sugar. Remove, let cool then serve.
